Talking Sports With Your Telephone Friend

Have you ever wondered what you can talk about with your telephone friend? Sure, it’s easy to say, “Just about anything,” but that doesn’t really answer your question, does it? So I’m going to give you a suggestion here that might actually help you. You see, I love watching (and talking about) sports. If that’s something you also enjoy doing, then why not talk about it with your telephone friend?
What Are You Doing, Pre-Super Bowl?
I’m not going to lie to you: My favorite sports tend to be college sports. Now, that doesn’t mean I don’t follow pro sports because I do. But the college sports life is more entertaining to me.
If you’re the same way, I have a question for you. What are you doing now that football–the playoffs and the bowl games–is over and March Madness has yet to begin? I know there’s obviously the Super Bowl coming up, but other than that, what are you following? It’s not quite time for baseball spring training yet, but that, too, is on its way.
What are you doing with your weekends now that college football has come to a close? I’m sure you must be doing something. Even I have to admit that occasionally, I’ll even turn on golf on TV in the background when I’m starved enough for sports action! Have you been doing the same? Or perhaps bowling or something similar?
How About Those Gameday Foods?
Have you been armchair analyzing the past season or the upcoming draft? What excuse do we have to eat our favorite bar foods right now? I know
that’s part of what I love about sports, the food we get to eat while watching! You can have wing night, burger night, or just your favorite dip while you tune in.
I’ll be honest with you: I’ll use a big game (or day of games) as an excuse to break out my favorite dip recipes or my favorite snacks. And of course, we can’t forget the favorite drink pairings. I tend to be a wine girl, but I won’t turn down a nice cocktail with my sports snacks!

I ask these questions because I’m your telephone friend, and I’m curious about what kinds of sports you like and how you like to enjoy them. Do you like to go to games, or do you prefer to watch from home? Are you the kind of fan who likes to talk about the game at the water cooler every morning, or do you keep your enjoyment of it more low-key?
Even if you are a low-key kind of person when it comes to sports, it can still be fun to talk to another person about them. So fill me in! What kinds of sports do you follow?
